2019: Akwa Ibom Community In Nasarawa State Endorses Udom For Second Term
In solidarity to what they described as credibility and competency in governance, about 13,800 citizens of Akwa Ibom State in Nasarawa state under the aegis of “Akwa Ibom Community in Diaspora, Nasarawa state chapter”, have endorsed Governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term in office come 2019.
In a media briefing with journalists at the President’s home town, Afaha Nsit in Nsit Ibom local government area last Sunday, the people lauded the Governor for his magnanimity of running a transparent administration, void of discrimination and chaos in the state, and expressed their willingness to cue behind the Governor in 2019.
Addressing journalist, the president of the group, Mr. Ephraim Udofia expressed satisfaction over the leadership style of Governor Emmanuel, specifically in the area of security, industrialization and youth inclusiveness, noting that the Dakkada philosophy has helped most Akwa Ibom people to realise their potentials.
“We have decided to gather here today in our number all the way from Nasarawa State to show solidarity to a credible, transparent man of peace. We are in tune with his developmental strides despite the fact that we are in the foreign land. We feel proud about our home.” He explained.”
“We will not failed to mention the relative peace enjoyed here at home due to the Governor’s amiable and Godfearing disposition. We want him to continue beyond 2019 so as to consolidate on his good works for the good of our dear state. We hereby call on all and sundry to cue behind the Governor to succeed.” He implored.
Mr. Udofia disclosed that already, the group has mobilised over 4,000 of its members to the state for the ongoing voter’s registration exercise and called on government of the state to assist them in mobilising over 8,000 members who are yet to register for the exercise to, avoid disenfranchising them in the forthcoming election.
Also speaking, the Secretary, Board of Trustee of the group, Akparawa Charles Udeme extolled the Governor for focus, foresight and overwhelming developmental strides despite the lean resources available.
He assured that if the Governor is given another chance in 2019, a lot more would be done for the benefit of every individuals in the state.
On his part, the village head of Afaha Nsit, Etidung Idongesit Udofia expressed joy over the maturity, unity and encouragement exhibited by the Akwa Ibom people in Diaspora, saying that we such corporation, the state will be well spoken of.
Others who accompanied the President were Comrade Akpan Inyang Udoh, provost of the group, Lady Nyabuk S. Udo, Financial Secretary, Moses Idem Etoi, Welfare, Akparawa Charles Udeme, BoT Secretary, Akparawa EdoAbasi Stephen, and a host of others.
