NSIMA EKERE COMMENCES CLAMPDOWN ON CRITICS
The Managing Director of NDDC Mr. Nsima Ekere has taken a swoop on his critics with the abduction of Mr Micheal Okon, a well known social media activist.
Mr Okon, according to a letter from his wife Kufre, was picked by some gun-wielding men in Uyo and rushed out without any prior notice.
Mr Nsima Ekere who is known to be intolerant of disenting voices had mapped his terror gang led by Uyo Nathaniel, a former kidnap suspect who had previously been linked to the kidnap of some workers of Stemco Construction in Ikot Ekpene in July 2008.
According to the wife, the abduction of Michael Okon which took place yesterday at PANgrace guest house was carried out Uyo Nathaniel’s armed men on the instruction of Nsima Ekere.
The eyewitness disclosed that immediately Michael Okon entered the Hotel premises where he likes sitting to write his articles, he met one Nsikak Okon, said to be a former councilor from his Southern Uruan Ward, who is alleged to have tipped the said Mr Nathaniel Uyo.
Thereafter, three armed men on black clothes stormed the venue in a Toyota Matrix car abducted Micheal to an unknown destination.
Every attempt to confirm his whereabout from all security agencies in the state has yielded no positive result as they were unaware of his whereabouts.
It could be recalled that three days to his abduction, a strange number called him threatening him over a news item he posted on facebook against Nsima Ekere. The phone number was later confirmed to be Uyo Nathaniel’s number, a personal aide to Obong Nsima Ekere.
Mrs Okon is appealing to the Police Commissioner, the State Security service to help in discovering her husband, whom she claims is harmelss.
It could be recalled that Nsima’s disposition to human sympathy has been on the radar in recent times when his reckless convoy ran into a truck on a highway, killing over six people.
Till now, Nsima is yet to visit the familes of the deceased accident victims caused by his negligence.
