Governor Udom Emmanuel will tomorrow receive the report of the commission of inquiry which investigated the remote cause of Reigners Bible Church collapse on the 10th of december 2016 in Government House, Uyo Akwa Ibom State.

It could be recalled that on  15th December 2016 Akwa Ibom Government had inaugurated a Commission of Inquiry into the collapsed church.

Retired Justice Umoekeyo Essang served as Chairman of the eight-member panel while the Secretary was Mrs Emem Daniel of the state’s Ministry of Justice.

The governor was quoted as saying “The commission shall with all convenient speed inquire into the circumstances that led to the collapse of the Reigners Bible Church Building in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State,”

The Committee had six terms of reference include investigating the immediate and remote causes of the collapse of the building and examine the roles played by persons and institutions in the disaster.

The commission’s report is expected under its terms of reference to identify any person, institution or authorities responsible either remotely or immediately for the collapse of the church building.

It is also expected to indict persons, organisations or groups found culpable and recommend appropriate sanctions to government.
