We are Optimistic of Beating MFM – Maikaba

Coach of Akwa United Football Club Abdu Maikaba has expressed optimism that his team will finished the first stanza of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL season in a comfortable position on the log.

Akwa United who occupied 5th position on the log will this Wednesday engage league leaders Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries MFM of Lagos on matchday 19 of the NPFL season at 4 O’clock in the afternoon at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium in Uyo.

Coach Maikaba said his players are well motivated ahead of the game and maintained that his target on Wednesday will be to claim the maximum three points.

” We set a target at the beginning of the season. Although we started badly, but by the grace of God we are now 5th on the table.
We are impressed with the way we are playing at the moment but we know that the job is not done yet”.

“Our match against MFM is a must win and the three points will take us to a very good position as we will be going into the mid-season break. We have to keep winning our matches both home and away so as to be able to achieve our target”
excited Maikaba concludes.

A win for the Promise Keepers will see them moved up to 4th position on the log.

The Uyo based team who are unbeaten at home this season defeated Kano Pillars away from home in their last away game.
