Etoi Clan Honors Monday Eyo, Akpanusoh Others

Sequel to his excellence performance, pragmatic leadership and lofty contributions to the generality of Uyo people and by extension the growth of the state, the lawmaker representing Uyo State Constituency , Rt. Hon. Monday Eyo, has been honored by Etoi Clan Council with Award of Excellence.

The Award was presented to the lawmaker along side other distinguished indigenes of the state, during the coronation of the new Clan Head of Etoi, His Highness Etebom Okon Udoabasi, Yesterday at Okuku Palace Square, Etoi in Uyo Local Government Area.

Responding, the Uyo lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Monday Eyo while accepting the award, thanked the Etoi Clan Council for deeming it right to publicly acknowledge and honour him with an Award of Excellence, adding that the gesture has inspired him to do more.
The Uyo mouth piece used the opportunity to congratulate the newly enthroned Clan Head of Etoi, His Highness Etebom Okon Udoabasi for his new status while assuring him of his support and robust working relationship.

He however appealed to the new Clan Head to discharge his duty as a Royal Father with all manner of decorum, transparency, unbiased but accommodating mind that will continue to foster peaceful co-existence with the people and other traditional rulers of the area.

He equally commended the indigenes of Uyo for their massive turn out to be part of epoch making event, adding that it shows Uyo people are one. The erudite lawmaker however reiterated his commitment to always give Uyo people the best, while seeking for their support and encouragement.

Speaking earlier, the newly installed Clan Head of Etoi, His Highness Etebom Okon Udoabasi thanked the Traditional Rulers and people of Etoi for finding him worthy to lead as the Clan Head of the area. The visibly elated Clan Head said he was excited to see the massive turnout which shows he has been accepted by the generality of Akwa Ibom people, while assuring he will discharge his duties diligently.

The monarch equally used the opportunity to commend the state governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel for issuing him certificate of recognition, even as he lauded his developmental strides in the state.

He however decried that Etoi which is one of four Clans that makes up Uyo Local Government Area has been marginalized politically in the state despite their sacrifices and contributions to the growth of the state.

The monarch appealed Etoi should be carried along in the scheme of things while congratulating those honored with Awards and Chieftaincy titles.

Meanwhile the event which was under the Chairmanship of Obong Val Attah equally witnessed cultural display and the honoring of other distinguished indigenes of the state with Awards and Chieftaincy titles.
