Otobong Ndem commends Ikpa Ibom Youth Forum on peaceful election, canvases support for Gov Udom
The member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Otobong Ndem has commended members of Ikpa Ibom Youth Forum for conducting a peaceful and successful elections.
The lawmaker gave the commendation yesterday while addressing Ikpa Ibom Clan Union shortly after the elections of the youth wing yesterday in Ukam, saying that the maturity exhibited by the youths during the election was unprecedented and very impressive.
Hon. Ndem, who was one of the observers, noted that the election was free, fair and hitch-free, commending the electoral committee for remaining unbiased and living up to the expectations of the people, which he said, contributed to the peaceful outcome of the election.
While congratulating the newly elected officers of the Forum, the lawmaker noted that leadership at all levels is challenging, charging them to be focus, selfless and ensure that they justify the confidence which the people have reposed in them.
“I’m charging you all to see your election as an opportunity to serve the Clan and not a right to start fighting people. Use this chance to bring development and growth to Ikpa Ibom Clan and Mkpat Enin Local Government Area in general.
“Ikpa Ibom Clan is the biggest clan in Mkpat Enin and you must ensure that you make the youths of other clans look up to you. Let me use this opportunity to assure you all that you have my full support in whatever you intend to do that will bring unity, progress and development to Ikpa Ibom Clan”.
The lawmaker further called on the people to continue in their support for Governor Udom Emmanuel and the Peoples Democratic Party, adding that Mkpat Enin remains a key beneficiary of Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected national president of the Forum, Joe Essiet Kokobassey thanked the youths for finding him fit to elect him as the president and promised to live up to the expectations of the Forum.
While appreciating Hon. Ndem and other leaders in Ikpa Ibom Clan, he further pledged the support of his executive to the leadership of Ikpa Ibom Clan Union, adding that he will ensure that the youth forum works in harmony with the Union for the overall growth and development of Ikpa Ibom Clan.
The newly elected officers of the Forum are; Joe Essiet Kokobassey, national president; Emmanuel Robenson Akpan, vice president; Imoh Cletus Ekong, secretary; Edidiong Saturday Johnny, financial secretary; Ben Duff Ben, treasurer; Christopher E Akpan, PRO 1; and Ubong Evans Umoren, PRO 2.
Others are, Kingsley Benedict Akpan, organizing secretary; Theresa Donald Ukpeme, woman leader 1; Marshall Usen Etukakpan, welfare Officer; Monday Emmanuel Udo, Provost; Mfon Bob, woman leader 2; Monday Anthony Ukpe, Ex-Officio 1; Ubong Evans Umoren, Ex- Officio 2; Joseph Godwin Ukpong, Ex-Officio 3 and Uduak Inyangudo, Ex-Officio 4.
