Idong Ituen Meets OBA Strategize for 2019
The lingering political leadership crisis in Itu Local government area which led to the recent suspension of the inauguration of Transition Committee members in the area, has taken an interesting twist, as member representing Itu State Constituency, Prince Idongesit Ituen has met and strategized with his former enemy during Akpabio’s regime Senator Bassey Albert.
A source closed to Senator Albert told Ibom People’s Voice that Prince Idongesit Ituen, on arriving OBA’s office, expressed anger over the way Governor Udom is yielding to pressure from the duo of Mr. Akan Okon and Senator Anietie Okon, promising that if Governor Udom does not accept his recommendations and nominations for the Transition Committee, he might wait for the Governor in 2019 in order to prove a point to him that he owns the political structure of Itu Local Government area.
Idongesit Ituen is said to have told OBA whom he described as the political leader of Uyo Senatorial District that he needed to tell him his plan so that he can support him to prove Udom that he cannot come from the bank to push him aside in the political permutation of Itu Local Government.
The lawmaker also disclosed to OBA that the reason he came to him was to align with OBA who is also suffering the same political situation like himself as depicted in an open letter written by one of his aides which gave in details the thing Bassey Albert and his supporters were facing in Udom’s government.
Reacting, the Senator representing Uyo was said to have expressed happiness at the visit, describing Ituen’s visit timely and promised to work with him.
