Herdsmen Ignores Uniuyo warning; Continues grazing on school campus

Herdsmen have continued grazing activities in University of Uyo (UNIUYO). This is weeks after the expiration of a two-week ultimatum given by the University authority for herdsmen to vacate the school premise.
Our reporter who visited the permanent campus of the University of Uyo situated at Nwaniba Road, Uyo. Reports of cattle’s cluster at over three locations with Fulani herdsmen in the school campus.
In May, The Vice Chancellor of institution, Prof. Enefiok Essien (SAN), had announced at a meeting with the Fulani herdsmen led by their head, Alhaji Farouk Miyetti Allah. Essien said that the institution was no longer comfortable with the herders as their cattle had constituted nuisance to the premises.
