– Says his performance is below expectation and ineffective

Following the lingering political situation in Akwa Ibom State, the need to replace elected representatives at the federal and other levels may arise in the forthcoming elections.
The former house of representatives Lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong who represented Uyo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly between 2011-2015 says he has what it takes to give Uyo Senatorial District quality and responsive representation at the senate if voted in the 2019 general elections.
Ekpenyong disclosed his intention during a parley with some members of his party recently in Uyo. He said he would contest against the second term ambition of Senator Bassey Albert, under the platform of APC. According to him, Senator Bassey Albert has not utilized well the mandate given him in 2015 by the people of Uyo Senatorial District.
Ekpenyong alleged that Senator Bassey’s achievements so far has really shown and proven that the embattled National Assembly member has failed the electorate.
The APC Senate hopeful maintained that the caliber of federal lawmakers from the state both in the upper and lower chambers of the National Assembly constitute a disgrace to the state and their party, stating that after collecting their constituency allowances, they do not come home to affect the lives of their people whom they benefitted from their mandate.
On his aspiration to represent Uyo Senatorial District come 2019, the former Deputy Speaker in the state Assembly said, he has much to offer to his people, adding the people did not vote any representative to serve or represent himself, family, relations, and inlaws, rather they were voted to serve the masses, irrespective of ethnic or religious persuassion, adding that while in the House of Representatives from 2011-2015, the people of Uyo federal constituency experienced massive change which improved their lives uptill date.
The ex-lawmaker, who is an APC chieftain in Akwa Ibom State promised to launch “operation vote out OBA and other PDP Federal lawmakers” who he claimed are wasting the peoples mandate at Abuja without offering any thing to the people of their constituencies.
